01 / SELECTED EXPERIENCE

Production experience.
Grounded in real operations.

My current engineering role and selected client work — with a clear distinction between the business context, my contribution and what remains confidential.

Current role

DIS-CONNECT GmbH · GERMANY

Engineering the systems
behind the device lifecycle.

Senior Lead Software Engineer

DIS-CONNECT works across device returns, diagnostics, refurbishment, grading, logistics and resale. That is a business where physical devices, operational decisions and software have to stay aligned.

I work remotely on the operational software and integrations that support these processes, contributing to a wider engineering effort rather than building an isolated application.

Simplified workflow, not a screenshot of a company system.

01

Operational workflows

Receiving, testing, grading, routing, warehousing and dispatch workflows.

02

Enterprise integration

SAP-related order and device flows, with error handling and retry behaviour.

03

Data consistency

Imports, device-model mapping and reconciliation across operational records.

04

Production improvement

Operational dashboards, performance investigation and ongoing system changes.

AI-assisted development. Engineer-owned decisions.

I work in an AI-assisted engineering environment, staying hands-on with implementation and accountable for reviewing, testing and understanding the changes I deliver.

Client deliveryMOBILE / CONNECTED PRODUCT

Bringing an industrial NFC product to life.

A sensor scan is only one part of a useful product. The mobile experience, cloud records and administration need to function as one system.

My contribution
Development partner across mobile, backend & administration
Delivery scope
NFC scanning, iOS and Android workflows, offline handling, backend services and administration tooling
THE IMPLEMENTATION FOCUS

Connect physical measurements to usable mobile and operational software.

Project summaries describe my contribution, not sole ownership of a company’s product. Employer names identify my experience, not endorsement of independent services.

02 / WHERE I CAN HELP

Start with the problem.
Not a technology wishlist.

For founders, operations leaders and product teams that need a technical partner who can both assess the situation and implement the solution.

01

Operations &
systems integration

When spreadsheets, duplicate entry and manual handoffs are holding your team back.

  • Workflow and systems assessment
  • API, CRM and data integrations
  • Internal tools and operational dashboards

& modernisation

When an existing system needs a clearer path, or a new product needs a sound foundation.

  • Architecture and technical roadmaps
  • Web, SaaS and mobile development
  • Database, API and legacy-system improvements
A CLEAR DELIVERABLE

A technical direction and working software, delivered in agreed milestones.

03

Practical AI
& knowledge systems

When you have a specific use case for AI, and need more than an impressive demonstration.

  • Document search and knowledge assistants
  • AI-assisted routing and workflow tools
  • Evaluation, permissions and human review
A CLEAR DELIVERABLE

A bounded use case with explicit evaluation and review criteria.

03 / A CLEAR WAY OF WORKING

Know what we’re building.
Know where it stands.

Senior judgement at the beginning.
Hands-on involvement through delivery.
Clear responsibilities throughout.

01

Understand

Map the workflow, talk through the constraints and identify the problem worth solving.

04 / YOUR TECHNICAL PARTNER

Senior judgement.
Still close to the code.

I’m a software architect and hands-on engineer, currently working remotely with DIS-CONNECT as a Senior Lead Software Engineer.

My background spans software development and system architecture at Synapse Consulting, followed by engineering leadership and CTO responsibilities at Regex Dot. I have been building software since 2012.

That combination shapes how I work: understand the operation, make the trade-offs clear, and stay involved in implementation. Founding SolarWebCrafters added a first-hand perspective on the commercial decisions behind a technology investment.

05 / AI REFERENCE PROJECTS

Practical AI.
Explicit boundaries.

Self-initiated portfolio prototypes that demonstrate implementation decisions. These use fictional data and are not presented as paid client deployments.

MY STARTING POINT Use AI where it helps. Use a simpler rule or integration where it is the better fit.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Clarity about the engagement matters as much as clarity about the technology.

What is the first step?

Send a short description of the problem, your existing systems and the outcome you need. We can then decide whether the right next step is a focused assessment, a scoped implementation or ongoing technical involvement. You do not need a finished specification.

How are scope, pricing and timelines agreed?

There is no one-size-fits-all project price. The proposal sets out the deliverables, exclusions, milestones, fees and acceptance criteria before paid work starts. When the work is too uncertain to estimate responsibly, a separately scoped discovery step comes first. Third-party hosting, software and AI costs are identified separately where relevant.

Can you work with our existing system and team?

Yes. The starting point is understanding what is already working and where the constraints are. The engagement may be a specific integration, a database improvement, a phased modernisation or architecture support alongside your team. A full rewrite is not the default.

Will I work directly with you?

Yes. I am the technical point of contact for discovery, architecture and delivery discussions. Any additional contributors and their responsibilities are agreed up front. Communication and meeting overlap are planned around the needs of the project.

What about source code, data and confidentiality?

Ownership, repository access, third-party licences, confidentiality and handover responsibilities are agreed in writing. Access should be limited to what is needed for the work. Please do not send credentials or sensitive business data through the enquiry form.

What happens after launch?

Deployment, documentation, acceptance and any included support are defined in the scope. Ongoing maintenance and further development can be agreed separately, with clear responsibilities and response expectations rather than an undefined promise of lifetime support.

How does consulting fit around your current role?

I agree capacity, scheduling and scope before accepting additional work. Any engagement must fit my existing commitments and confidentiality obligations. We establish the delivery arrangement before making a start-date commitment.

LET’S DISCUSS YOUR PROJECT

A straightforward privacy note.

This is Shuja Hasan’s professional website. The application does not set cookies or include advertising pixels, third-party analytics or tracking embeds.

What happens to your details

In email-draft mode, your form details stay in this page until you choose to open your email app or copy the brief. They are not saved to browser storage. After you send an email, it is processed by your email provider and the recipient’s provider.

When direct form delivery is enabled, the name, email, project details and optional budget or timeline are sent to this website’s server, then to Shuja’s inbox through its email provider. The server temporarily counts requests by IP address to limit spam. It does not maintain a separate enquiry database.

Purpose, retention and requests

Enquiry information is used to respond, assess project fit and, where relevant, discuss an engagement. Enquiry emails may remain in the business mailbox for follow-up and recordkeeping. Ask for access, correction or deletion by contacting Shuja; records required for an active engagement or applicable obligations may need to be retained.

Hosting and email providers may process access logs and message data under their own policies. External LinkedIn and Upwork links use those platforms’ privacy practices. No details are sold or added automatically to a marketing list.
